Saving note: this page does not upload or store on a server. Click “Download current draft” below as you go; once the file is on your device, that is your save. Click it again before closing the page.
Tell me what happened, in plain words (no legal terms needed)
Do not worry about legal terms. Tell me in plain words what happened and what you want resolved. Click “Next” to add dates, address and evidence later; you can generate without them.
Already know the state / province / region? Open “add dates, address, evidence” below, then expand to choose manually (a manual choice overrides address inference).
Split by punctuation, not event recognition. Check the date, evidence, people and classification on each card before joining. A joined sentence is removed from the voice box; if you edited its wording, delete it from the voice box yourself.
Note: Tap to speak uses the browser’s built-in speech recognition; some browsers send audio to the browser vendor’s service, it is not local to this page. If that concerns you, type instead. Recognized text only fills the box above and does not generate conclusions.
Stored only in this device's browser, never uploaded, not encrypted; changing devices or clearing cache loses it; do not turn it on on a shared device. Turning it off deletes the on-device draft.
A draft was found on this device:
Import replaces current entries (you confirm first); case.json holds only what you entered here, not alignment checkmarks or the court-tier hint; check each item after import.
On first open you see only the three core fields; other legal fields appear in extras, in lawyer mode, or on the result page by stage. You do not need to fill everything at once.
Saving: by default this page does not save to a server or to local storage; turning on the “save draft on this device” switch above stores it in this browser only (not uploaded, not encrypted). For long-term keeping, download or copy the pack on the result page; with the switch off, closing the page loses it. To go back and edit: on the echo page use Back, on the result page use the top Back button, then regenerate.
Stage 1: country and the approximate city where the dispute happened. Stage 2: contract terms, the other side location, and other facts that may affect jurisdiction. Stage 3: the system flags questions for professional confirmation (see the breakpoint check on the result page). Stage 4: a lawyer or competent authority determines the specific jurisdiction and filing place. US state and federal law, Chinese law and special jurisdiction rules for different dispute types cannot be solved by address inference alone.
Not sure which court: ask the filing office of the local court for the dispute address first, do not guess; the system does not assign a specific court.
Ordinary flow: location → explain what happened → handoff pack + material draft + facts-organization draft (all self-representation drafts, you are responsible) → lawyer recommendation (optional) → you file.
Lawyer workbench (4 groups): 1 Jurisdiction and document type → 2 Parties and facts → 3 Legal authority and case support → 4 Reasoning and review/signing → generate a draft document suggestion. You fill in and check the authority and cases; the system writes them into the document and does not judge suitability.
Before you write, prepare these: keywords (dispute type, e.g. civil contract), time/date, names, cause. Privacy reminder: give address only to city/district level. Do not enter full home address, ID number, phone, or bank details. The system keeps data only in page memory and does not upload it, but still do not enter real private details.
Fill one card and click “Add event”. The system writes it into the daily description, timeline, event-evidence links and the classification you pick. A card does not judge truth; evidence status is yours to confirm. Leave evidence or people blank if you have none yet.
Before sorting, ask yourself two questions: (1) Did you experience this yourself, or did someone tell you? (2) Do you have proof such as a screenshot, contract or transfer record? Experienced + proof → 1; experienced, no proof → 2; heard from the other side → 3; your guess → 4; unsure → leave unclassified. Examples of splitting one sentence are inside the section below.
If you are unsure, split the sentence instead of forcing it into one class. Example: “I saw the other side admit the debt on WeChat” splits into: 1) you personally saw the message; 2) the WeChat record itself is material — if you saved a screenshot or the original record, put it under “supported by materials”; if you only remember it, put it under “experienced but no material yet”. Actions (what you saw, heard or received) go in one class, materials (chat records, transfer receipts, contracts) in another; if unsure, use “experienced”, do not force “supported”.
Relationships: one event can link to multiple pieces of evidence, and one piece of evidence can support multiple events; you confirm the relationships, the system does not decide who is right; file upload is not supported yet (this page does not upload), register the evidence information first and keep the original files yourself.
Select a country and the next level first; the filing court link will appear here.
US: the specific filing court depends on case type, county and jurisdiction; a lawyer must confirm it; this page does not designate one directly. China: internet courts only handle internet-related cases; priority does not mean every case goes to an internet court; arbitration institutions depend on the city and the arbitration agreement; the system does not designate one.
England only is included for the UK and only the top 5 provinces for Canada; other jurisdictions are not yet available. Jurisdiction tiers are done, but citation sources are still mainly US; Chinese sources require separate lawyer verification; check each detailed case at the citation-check handoff for its jurisdiction.
Below is your input echoed line by line, unchanged. The tool did not add, delete, infer causation, or add legal judgment. Generate only after you confirm it is correct.
After organizing facts: save original evidence (not just a retelling) and check key dates.
Have a lawyer confirm this pack → see lawyer referral below (official channels, not a platform recommendation list)
This tool only organizes the information you provide. It does not judge which law favors you, does not pick cases for you, and does not give legal conclusions; have a lawyer confirm the results before use.
Data flows: page-memory processing; speech may go to the browser vendor service; after clicking VerifyCites, you control what you paste there; future lawyer handoff is not built and sends no data; download/copy are under your control.
When preparing a draft: jurisdiction, legal basis and format need human confirmation; this page skeleton is not a finished document.
Ordinary-person view note: lawyer-only fields (IRAC, claim basis, application analysis, counterarguments, risk and evidence gaps, reasoning conclusions) are not on the ordinary view; lawyer mode opens a separate professional workbench; both modes share the same fact data, not the same cognitive workflow.
Below are a material draft and a facts-organization draft, both self-representation drafts. Check them yourself, then you may file them yourself; you are responsible; a lawyer is only a recommended option, not required; some types still require a lawyer or authorized representative. The citation area in the free version shows only 1 candidate citation, and this static page has no search service and no AI candidate citations; after a lawyer takes the case, the lawyer fills in and checks them; full citations, multi-draft notes, and post-filing judgment probes (all planned, not yet live) are future subscription services.
This is a prescribed-format skeleton, not AI-generated argument: facts come verbatim from your input; dispute, argument and conclusion are left blank for a lawyer to fill; candidate citations are preliminary only; check each case on VerifyCites. No professional legal AI engine is connected; the system does not write arguments for a lawyer.
Note: the citations below are candidates only; a real but irrelevant citation can appear here. VerifyCites, explained once here (later places give only the link): VerifyCites is an independent citation tool; its browser mode only extracts citation formats and gives source links, it does not check existence online. To check existence, follow the VerifyCites page instructions for the command-line tool with your own CourtListener token. It cannot judge whether a citation supports your case.

Appears after a document is generated. Free consultation scope and length are confirmed by the lawyer; this does not mean the whole case is free. No real lawyer list is connected yet; before display, verify: license, firm, city, practice areas, free-consultation scope. You choose; the platform does not endorse.
This static page has no real lawyer list; it invents no names, firms, or contact details.
Appears after a document is generated. “Bar-registered” means the license can be looked up on the state bar website; it is not a bar endorsement. No list verified against state bar data is connected yet; before display, verify: state license status, practice areas, city, whether referrals are accepted. You choose; the platform does not endorse.
This static page has no real lawyer list; it invents no names, firms, or contact details.
Nodes and edges are defined by the IDs you enter (people P, event dates, evidence E); this is not an auto-generated graph visualization and not a backend graph database; contradiction prompts appear only in the breakpoint check and do not decide who is right.
Completeness counts only how many information groups you filled in. It does not judge case strength or predict outcomes, and it does not replace a lawyer.
The rows below are listed from the facts you entered and the jurisdiction/type you selected. Check each row: check the ones that are right, leave the wrong ones unchecked (unchecked rows do not enter the text); the system does not judge for you.
Statute library v0.1 contains only verified entries, not all laws. For areas not listed, ask a lawyer to search; applicability is for you or a lawyer to check. Chinese cases are reference only, unlike US case law which is binding. Chinese cases are statute-based; reference cases are on China Judgments Online, for reference only. US citations go through VerifyCites to check existence and official links; support and current validity are for a lawyer to judge.
Existence, name match, support and current validity are NOT checked on this page; judge them yourself or with a lawyer; other domains and states are not yet included and must be lawyer-searched, not invented. For existence checks use the citation-check handoff below.
This page does not check citations online. The VerifyCites browser page only extracts citation formats; every row is NOT_CHECKED and it does not check whether a case exists. Check each one yourself via the link below, or batch-check with its command-line tool (needs Python and your own CourtListener token; this page never collects tokens). The system does not judge support or current validity; case names here match the alignment table. Route by jurisdiction: U.S. cases via the VerifyCites link below; England cases via BAILII → (British and Irish Legal Information Institute); Canada cases via CanLII → (Canadian Legal Information Institute). Both homepages were live-verified on Oct 30, 2026; BAILII may briefly show a robot check first, then loads normally.
Open the VerifyCites legal page to check →
Ticks live only in this page's memory and are lost on close, refresh, or reset. When you generate the document, the list's check status is appended at the end (it only states what you confirmed and what is still unchecked; it is not a system check).
Filing is your own responsibility. The platform does not file for you and does not contact courts or arbitration bodies. Post-filing tracking will come later; it does not exist yet.
No conclusion. This tool does not give tailored conclusions such as “you should / can / will”.
This page defaults to the plain-language view. The lawyer view is a structured view of the same data: numbered facts, timeline, evidence links and confirmed alignment rows. Downloading the JSON lets you hand the case to a lawyer without retelling it. The JSON contains only what you entered, no system conclusions.
Enter ID numbers and other sensitive information only on the official site, never on this page; public information found there is reference only — do not use it to harass or spread.
Only alignment rows you checked enter the document. Unchecked candidates and unverified candidate citations never enter the text. This page produces web text, not court pleading-paper format; before filing, reformat under local rules and check jurisdiction, deadlines, copies and fees. The case number is assigned by the court; do not invent one.
A referral channel is not an endorsement. Before retaining anyone, verify license and standing in the state bar / judicial administration directory.
Post-filing tracking is not available yet; keep progress, receipts and status yourself. A tracking layer comes later.
One page for the lawyer: timeline + evidence registry + evidence gaps + meeting questions. Gaps are computed by text matching, not system judgment; the questions are general, not conclusions about this case. You can also open the brief alone in a new window for printing, or download a Word version.
This site has no automatic AI legal consultation; the tool only organizes and does not give targeted legal conclusions.
For human help, email info@verifycites.com. Human handoff covers tool-use help, feedback, and a human look at your handoff pack; for legal questions, use the lawyer-referral directories to find a licensed lawyer.
Do not include ID numbers, bank account numbers, or other sensitive personal information in the email; if you send your pack for a human look, do so voluntarily and redact it yourself.
When things feel complex, start by sorting them out.
